Albrecht Dürer the Younger, as he was called correctly, came from Nuremberg and has survived as the third of 18 children, of which only three have born on 21/05/1471. The father was a successful goldsmith, and his son was also in the trade. The boy showed early his talent for drawing, as can be clearly seen on a self-portrait of 13 year old. His reputation as an outstanding painter whose works were groundbreaking for its time, and have survived the centuries, justified also on its presentation of the simple things, like the famous image of hares proves impressive. After opening his workshop in Nuremberg in 1497, he has created in the early years many portraits and self portraits, but also landscape watercolors.
He was also a pioneer in this respect, for the watercolor painting in this period was not so much as an oil painting. Later, he devoted himself to the engraving and the woodcut. His signature, the well-known large A with the D was parked at this time also a novelty, as he marked his pictures with this monogram, which was soon imitated by others, because before that it was not usual. Subsequently, he created a wealth of works that sought in the implementation and refinement of the representation of their kind, and later also inspired by his trips to Venice, where he was a lasting impression especially Giovanni Bellini, and found the colors in his paintings precipitation.

and his client lead up to the Emperor Maximilian, Dürer was
councilman in Nuremberg, even the city of Venice, offered him a
salary if he stayed. After a malaria illness, he died suddenly on 6
April 1528, after a lifetime of creative power of humanity and left
behind his immortal works.
